The RC was speaking shortly after swearing in the new DC at his office yesterday, who is taking over from Anthony Mtaka who has been promoted to Regional Commissioner for Simiyu.
The RC said ghost workers were tarnishing civil servants’ image and the government at large and should be exposed at all cost.
He appealed to the DC to work closely with the district security and defence committee to curb some other challenges including land disputes, political issues and conflicts between KADCO and some villages around Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), among others.
He advised district authorities to increase revenue collection to ensure there were enough desks in schools while also ensuring that more classrooms were built.
Recently, while presiding at an ALAT meeting in Dodoma, Premier Kassim Majaliwa directed district authorities to ensure they collected more than 80 per cent of their projected revenue or face deregistration.
Hai district is one of seven districts forming Kilimanjaro region
